My Children

Finlay made me a mummy. Even though he is probably the naughtiest little boy I know he is so full of character and love. He has a wild spirit and not a day goes by that he doesn’t get into some sort of trouble. It doesn’t matter how naughty he has been though, every night before I go to bed I give him a goodnight kiss, watching him sleeping so peacefully makes my heart melt.… Read More

If your a new parent, then this will not be the first and last time you hear of them. Lamaze is a fantastic toy brand that produces energetic and fun learning toys for children 0 – 24 months. I remember Finlay loving his Lamaze toys when he was a baby and so I didnt hesitate in finding Emmie some of her own, she especially loves her Emily Doll. So I was really please when Lamaze got in contact recently to ask if we wanted to review a couple of toys that are new for 2017, I didn’t hesitate in saying yes!

Gestational Diabetes: The Lowdown

Diabetes, no one plans to develop diabetes, especially not mums to be. In fact it probably wouldnt even cross most womens mind when they have just found out they are pregnant. However, Gestational Diabetes (GD) will affect around 5% of UK pregnancies. Once diagnosed there are so many misconceptions within society, these women end up feeling guilty. Thinking somehow, they have caused it to themselves. Support from the NHS OK, but hindered by offering advice based upon Type 2 Diabetes (a low fat diet due to the link with obesity). GD, however is hormone driven. Most women will struggle to follow type 2 dietary advice, due to the fluctuations of their hormone levels during pregnancy.

Hopefully this post will give you a brief overview of the condition, how you can help yourself manage GD and quash a few misconceptions associated with it.

It makes me sad they don’t stay little for long, but also incredibly excited to see the little girl sheis going to grow into. So without furthur ado, Today I am…… 3 month old.

Over the past 4 weeks Emmie has continued to show more and more interest in whats going on around her. She is extremely nosey. When being held loves nothing more than to sit up and make sure she has had a good look at everything thats on offer. If you put her down and she isn’t done, she lets loose her wrath, screaming in protest.… Read More
